How imperative are Primary Care Physicians in our lives?

Primary care doctors play a significant role in our lives. They are the first ones that will assist you when you have fallen sick or facing any heath related problems.

For becoming a practitioner, one should hold either MBBS, MD or DO degree to be known by the name of a primary care physician. They carry out basic analysis and non-surgical cure for sickness and medical circumstances.














The physician is not specialized in particular area of medicine rather their main focus is to assist the patients in maintaining their general health. Their main focus lies in providing pre-emptive care than of medicinal care.

Procedures followed by a primary care doctor in handling ailments of the patients are as follows-

Record the history- the first thing that a primary care doctor do when a patients arrive to their clinic is to check for the problem they are facing at that moment. Then before moving on to the next step he will first record patient’s previous history so that whatever treatment is to be given to the patient does not affect them if in case they are facing any health issues or are allergic to particular thing.

Physical examination- after confirming the history the second thing that a doctor will do is that he will carry out physical examination of the patient to trace out the reason behind particular disease or illness. Patient are actively involved in the conversation at that time as the physician ask them certain question and relate the symptoms that patient have described.

Prescribe test- after conducting physical examination, if a physician will have any doubt in his mind then he would send the patient for carrying out particular test. These tests are recommended to find out the root cause of the disease.

Diagnosis and Treatment -
as soon as the doctor receives the test report he will diagnose the problem and accordingly will prescribe treatment to the patient.
